I Tierra Santa si formano nel 1997 nella regione di La Rioja in Spagna. Descritti superficialmente come gli "Iron Maiden spagnoli", si autoproducono nello stesso anno il primo album, "Medieval", attirando l'attenzione principalmente nel loro paese per via di un sound semplice ma efficace, che paga si tributo ai Maiden principalmente ed ai Judas Priest poi, ma che fa emergere anche talento ed espressivita' grazie all' uso dei testi nella loro lingua madre. Iniziano quindi un tour promozionale suonando con altre band spagnole come Avalanch e Mago de Oz e aprendo per Dio nel suo tour in Spagna. Entro la fine dell'anno firmano con Locomotive Music che nel 1999 pubblica sia il loro secondo album "Legendario" sia la ristampa del loro debutto, con una nuova copertina. Diventano quindi sempre più popolari anche fuori dalla Spagna (con tour anche in Usa) album dopo album, altri sei vengono pubblicati dalla Locomotive fino al 2005: "Tierras de Leyenda" (2000), "Sangre de Reyes" (2001), "Indomable" (2003), "Apocalipsis" (2004), "Mejor Morir en Pie" (2005) ed il live album "Las Mil Y Una Noches" (2003). Il loro segreto è un bilanciato mix tra potenza e melodie, la carimastia voce di Angel ed il fatto che la line-up rimane la stessa sin dall' inizio, forgiando cosi un loro suono, immediatamente riconoscibile. Poi un lungo silenzio, prima che venga registrato il nuovo album "Caminos de Fuego" (2010) seguito da "Mi Nombre Sera Leyenda" (2013), "Quinto Elemento" (2017), "Destino" (2022) ed il recente "Un Viaje Epico" (2024), con alcuni cambi di formazione che vedono Angel (voce e chitarra) e Roberto (basso) gli unici membri originali. "Apocalipsis" è un album meno heavy e piu' melodico di tutti quelli precedenti, ma la qualita' dei pezzi è talmente alta che non te ne accorgerai. "Hermano del Viento" è la perfetta conclusione per questo piccolo disco-capolavoro. Disponibile per la prima volta in vinile.
Tierra Santa formed in 1997 in their hometown region of La Rioja in Spain. Described superficially as "Spanish Iron Maiden", same year they self-released their first album, "Medieval", catching attention mainly in their country thanks of a simple but effective sound, which pays tribute surely to Maiden first and Judas Priest then, but brings out also talent and expressiveness, helped by the use of the lyrics in their mother tongue. The band started their promotional tour playing with other spanish bands as Avalanch and Mago de Oz and also opening for Dio on his tour in Spain. By the end of that year they signed with Locomotive Music and in April 1999 the label released their second album "Legendario" and a new edition of their debut with a new artwork. Then they become more popular also outside Spain (touring also in Us) album after album, six more were released by Locomotive up to 2005: "Tierras de Leyenda" (2000), "Sangre de Reyes" (2001), "Indomable" (2003), "Apocalipsis" (2004), "Mejor Morir en Pie" (2005) and live album "Las Mil Y Una Noches" (2003). Their secret is a well balanced mix of power and melodies, the charismatic voice of Angel and the fact the line-up remained the same since their beginning, forging their own-sound as immediately recognizable.
Then a long silence, before new album "Caminos de Fuego" is released in 2010, followed by "Mi Nombre Sera Leyenda" (2013), "Quinto Elemento" (2017), "Destino" (2022) and latest "Un Viaje Epico" (2024) with some line-up changes, leaving Angel (vocals, guitars) and Roberto (bass) only original members. "Apocalipsis" is less heavy and more melodic album than all the previous ones, but the song-writing's so high for the whole listening that you will not notice that. "Hermano del Viento" is the perfect ending for this little album-masterpiece. Available on vinyl for the first time.
