Thundersteel was formed in Germany in 1990 and the band's name alone makes it clear they are bound to classic heavy metal. Despite their short career, they earned a well-deserved cult status by releasing the heavy metal gem "Thundersteel" in 1994, after recording a demo in 1991 that caught the attention of Black Mark. The scarcity of detailed biographical information and the distribution difficulties in purchasing the album have fueled interest in the band over time. "Thundersteel" was recorded and mixed in early 1994 at Wave Station Studio in Ljusne, Sweden. It was also released for the Japanese market by Teichiku Records with the bonus track "Holy War." The album's lineup consisted of Nils Lange (vocals), Gerrit Schäfer (guitar), Sven Semmelrodt (guitar), Ralf Drechsler (bass), and Norman Schäfer (drums). The band disbanded shortly thereafter.
Now available for the first time on Lp (500 copies) and reissued on Cd (500 copies), both formats with the Japanese bonus track "Holy War"; Cd includes also four demo bonus tracks."
