"Phil Rind was a man of metal on a mission to keep metal alive and intact. This release proves that he has accomplished mission. Compiling such metal classics as "Surf Nicaragua","Independent", and new material off of their last effort, this 13-song live Lp jams out the tunes in true metal fashion. Fans of Sacred Reich will scoop this up, as should any metal fan who wants to jump back into the past with a true metal workhorse"
Formed in 1985, Sacred Reich were an integral part of the 80s and 90s thrash movement. After 1 demo in 1986 they catched the attention of Metal Blade and released the albums "Ignorance" (1987), "American Way" (1990), "Independent" (1993), "Heal" (1996) before splitting in 2000.
They created their own-sound mixing mid-tempo thrash metal (with some hardcore influences), powerful riffs, Phil Rind's rough vocals and direct and uncompromising lyrics on social matters and political issues, reflecting a strong anti-war vision and criticism of social injustice.
Reformed in 2006 but only as a live act, performing live At Wacken in 2012, in 2018 they started to work on new material. In 2019 they released their first new album in 23 years, "Awakening" always with Metal Blade.
The current lineup includes "historical" Phil Rind (vocals, bass) and Wiley Arnett (lead guitar), new entry Joey Radziwill (rhythm guitar) and Dave McClain (drums, already on "Independent" and "Heal"). "Still Ignorant," originally released in 1997, is a precious live witness of the band's energy, featuring all their classics and the ever-present Black Sabbath's "War Pigs."
